FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should I brand my workwear?

Printed and embroidered workwear is a great way to improve brand recognition and create trust with your customers. From high-quality t-shirts and polo-shirts, to jackets and reflective clothing, we can customise almost any garment! Sometimes seen as an unnecessary expense, branded workwear creates awareness a smart & professional look for your team or organisation.

What is embroidery?

When a garment is embroidered, your logo or design is sewn directly onto your garment using a computerised embroidery machine. Embroidery gives a high quality, long-lasting finish to your garment.

What is printing?

When a garment is printed, your logo or design is printed onto a special flexible heat transfer material before it is heat pressed onto your garment for a permanent seal. Printed garments are durable if washed and dried correctly (as per the garment label).

Printed workwear offers a quality look and feel for your corporate branding.

Why do I need to get my logo digitised?

When we embroider your workwear, we first need to create a ‘digitised’ version of your logo. The process translates your logo graphics/design, images or text into a design file ready for our embroidery machines. Once your logo is digitised, we store it on file to ensure it is easily accessible when needed. We also keep a number of common logos – such as Gas Safe / NICEIC – on file, and are available free of charge to our customers.

What garments can be customised?

Almost anything can be customised! Simply choose your garments, to be printed or embroidered, from our large selection of workwear clothing including:

  • Trade Bundle
  • Polo Shirts & T-shirts

Can you customise my own garments?

Yes, you can supply us with your own work clothing for us to embroider/print. All of our printing and embroidery work is of high quality and is competitively priced. Terms & Conditions Apply.

How long does embroidery/printing take?

Embroidery lead times are typically 7-10 workings days. Print lead times are typically 3-5 working days. We do offer an express service, subject to availability and an extra charge (please contact us for more information).

For new customers, it may take a little longer as we’ll need to digitise your logo and if requested arrange a sample.

Once you have completed your first order, subsequent orders can be dispatched much faster, as we’ll have your logo and artwork ready to go. (Subject to garment availability).

How do I supply my logo / artwork?

We accept most formats, including PDF, EPS, JPEG and TIFF. Additional charges may apply if you are unable to send us a digital version of your logo/artwork. Please contact us on 01702 553698 for more information.

Can I see my artwork before it is printed / embroidered?

Yes, we always produce a digital proof for new logos and designs to ensure you are happy before we proceed. Our design team will send you a digital proof of your artwork within 24-48 working hours of orders being placed. Your artwork must be approved before your order can be customised. Work & Wear Direct take no responsible for errors once artwork has been approved by the customer.
