UV U SEE – UV Colour Changing Transfer

A heat-applied transfer that makes UV exposure visible. The logo sits white in low UV and shifts to pink, then red, as levels climb — a plain prompt to reapply sun cream, cover up or find shade. Applied to compatible garments as part of your branding, or supplied for your own application.

UV U SEE – UV Colour Changing Transfer

Outdoor workers spend the summer in UV they cannot see. The UV U SEE transfer gives it a colour.

Applied to a hi-vis vest, polo or T-shirt, the logo reads white when UV levels are low. As they rise, it turns pink, then red. Nobody has to check a forecast or an app — the change is on the garment, visible to the wearer and to everyone else on site.

How it works

The transfer is heat-applied to the garment in the same way as any other print. The pigment responds to UV rather than to heat or brightness, so it reacts on overcast days too, when exposure is easy to underestimate. The colour returns to white once UV levels drop.

It is a prompt, not a protection. The transfer indicates that conditions warrant sun cream, covering up or shade — it does not measure a dose, and it does not replace SPF or sun-protective clothing.

Why it exists

UV U SEE was set up to change how the construction industry treats skin protection. According to the initiative, UK construction workers make up around 8% of the workforce but account for roughly 44% of occupational melanoma deaths, and around 86% of skin cancer is preventable. The transfer is a low-cost way of putting that on the shop floor rather than in a toolbox talk.

Specification

  • UV-reactive colour-changing logo: white → pink → red as UV intensifies
  • Reverts to white as UV levels fall
  • Heat-applied transfer for compatible garments
  • Supplied singly; volume pricing available on request
  • SKU: TRF-003

Suitable for

Construction and groundworks, highways and street works, rail, utilities, grounds maintenance, agriculture, waste and recycling, logistics yards, and any team working outdoors between spring and autumn.

Application and branding

We can apply the transfer alongside your own print or embroidery, so a vest carries both your company logo and the UV indicator. If you would rather apply it in-house, order the transfers and we will supply application guidance for your press.
